Saille, a Belgian symphonic black metal band, was formed in 2009 by Dries Gaerdelen. The group's name is derived from the ancient Irish alphabet Ogham and translates to "willow." Saille began as a solo project for Gaerdelen but evolved into a full band with the addition of Jonathan Vanderwal on guitar and vocals, Gert Monden on drums, and Reinier Schenk on guitar. Their debut album, Irreversible Decay, was released in 2011 under Code666 Records and received international acclaim. The band's subsequent albums include Ritu (2013), Eldritch (2014), and Gnosis (2017). Saille is known for incorporating classical instruments into their compositions, creating a unique blend of black metal with symphonic elements. The band has performed at notable festivals such as Graspop Metal Meeting and EMM-Eindhoven Metal Meeting, and has toured extensively across Europe.
