Cats in Space (stylized CATS in SPACE - The Band) is a British rock band formed in Horsham (West Sussex) in 2015, by guitarist Greg Hart and drummer Steevi Bacon. Following the band's formation, vocalist Paul Manzi, keyboardist Andy Stewart, bassist Jeff Brown and second guitarist Dean Howard were recruited to complete the official line-up, which developed its debut album Too Many Gods, from which the single "Mr. Heartache" was taken. The line-up, which made its live debut at The Half Moon in Putney in 2016, performed at the Free Festival and other gatherings, before embarking on a tour with the band Thunder ahead of the release of the album Scarecrow in 2017. After a gig in London's Hyde Park and at the Fairport Cropedy Convention, the band plays support slots for Deep Purple, Status Quo, Bonnie Tyler and Blue Öyster Cult. In mid-2019, singer Paul Manzi announces his departure to join The Sweet after the first half of The Narnia Tour. Shortly after Paul Manzi's departure, Mark Pascall joins the band as the new lead singer until the next tour. He is then replaced by Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds singer Damien Edwards, who contributes to the albums Atlantis (2020), Kickstart the Sun (2022) and Time Machine (2024).
