The Chœur de l'Armée Française, also known as the French Army Chorus, was established in 1982 by Charles Hernu, then Minister of Defense. Initially formed to accompany official ceremonies and commemorations, the choir became part of the Garde républicaine in 1994. Composed of 45 male choristers, it began being directed by Aurore Tillac in 2007. The choir's repertoire included traditional music, hymns, military songs, religious chants, classical lyric works for male voices, and popular tunes. It also frequently collaborated with notable orchestras such as the Orchestre national Bordeaux Aquitaine and the Orchestre de Paris, and under conductors like Yutaka Sado and Christoph Eschenbach. The choir has performed at the July 14th national ceremonies and at venues like the Théâtre du Châtelet and Opéra Comique. Notable releases include Les Grands Airs D'opera (2008) and Paris je t'aime (2019).
