Hurricane #1 is an English rock band formed in Oxford, England, in 1996 by former Ride guitarist Andy Bell, vocalist and guitarist Alex Lowe, bassist Will Pepper, and drummer Gareth "Gaz" Farmer. The band released their self-titled debut studio album Hurricane #1 in 1997 through Creation Records. The album featured the single “Step into My World”, which reached number 29 on the UK Singles Chart, while a remix by Paul Oakenfold reached number 19. Their second studio album, Only the Strongest Will Survive, was released in 1999, yielding the title track “Only the Strongest Will Survive”, which reached number 19 alongside their earlier single “Just Another Illusion”. Following Bell's departure to join Oasis as bassist, the band disbanded in 1999. In November 2014, Lowe reformed Hurricane #1 with a new lineup, releasing the studio albums Find What You Love and Let It Kill You in 2015 through Tapete Records, Melodic Rainbows in 2016, Buddah at the Gas Pump in 2019, and Backstage Waiting To Go On in 2023.
