Theresia Philipp, born in 1991 in Großröhrsdorf, Saxony, is a German jazz musician known for alto, soprano, and baritone saxophone, clarinet, flute, and composition. She started playing saxophone at eleven in a folk band, studied at the Sächsisches Landesgymnasium für Musik in Dresden, and later at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under Claudius Valk, Roger Hanschel, Henning Berg and Joachim Ullrich. Her discography includes the Trio Pollon’s debut album, Pollon Herb, in 2016, followed by Pollon with Strings in 2020 and Losing Color in 2021. She toured Europe and India, performed with John Taylor, Kurt Elling and the hr‑Bigband, and received the Lions Club Köln scholarship in 2013, the Horst and Gretl Will scholarship and Cologne Jazz Prize in 2020, and the WDR Jazz Prize for composition in 2022.
