Betty Mars, born Yvette Marcelle Baheux on July 30, 1944, in Paris, France, was a French singer and actress. She began her career as a dancer and acrobat before becoming a revue leader at the age of 16 in Paris, Las Vegas, and Brazil. Her music career started with the release of the single “Monsieur l'étranger” in late 1971, which won the Prix Charles Cros. The singer represented France at the Eurovision Song Contest 1972 with the song “Comé-comédie”, finishing 11th out of 18 contestants. She performed duets with Mike Brant and Alain Barrière, and her acting roles included Esmeralda in the film Bons baisers... à lundi (1974) and the title role in Émilienne (1975). Her last single was “C'est à quarante ans” in 1987. She passed away on February 20, 1989.
