Karin Kent, born Janneke Kanteman on November 11, 1943, in Amsterdam, is a Dutch singer. She began her career as part of the band Flying Tigers before releasing her debut single with Johnny & The Cellar Rockers in 1964. Kent's breakthrough came in 1966 when she performed "Dans je de hele nacht met mij?", a cover of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s song, at the Songfestival van Knokke. This performance led to the single reaching Number 1 on the Nederlandse top 40 on August 13, 1966, marking the first Dutch-language number-one hit in the chart's history. Following this success, Kent released several EPs and albums, but her subsequent attempts at an English-language repertoire were less successful. She retired from music in 1970.
