Sergeant Thunderhoof are a UK-based stoner rock band known for their heavy, groove-laden sound that blends elements of doom, psych-rock and classic rock. Formed in 2013, the band have earned a reputation for their high-energy performances and unique musical style, which features fuzzy guitar riffs, thundering rhythms, and hypnotic, expansive atmospheres. With influences ranging from the heavy sounds of Black Sabbath and Fu Manchu to the spacey vibes of Pink Floyd, Sergeant Thunderhoof's music takes listeners on a journey through thick, sludgy grooves and cosmic landscapes. The band have released several EPs and albums, including their 2014 debut EP Zigurat, Terra Solus (2018) and This Sceptred Veil (2021). Over the years, they've toured extensively across the UK and Europe, building a loyal fanbase and sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the stoner and doom metal scenes. The band’s lineup has remained relatively stable, with their signature sound forged by four founding members: vocalist Dan Flitcroft, bassist Jim Camp, guitarist Mark Sayer, and drummer Darren Ashman. 2024 saw the release of new album The Ghost of Badon Hill.
