Dong Wenhua born on June 29, 1962 in Shenyang, China, is a singer and first-class performer of the General Political Department Song and Dance Troupe of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Her first public exposure came through military performances that highlighted her vocal range and earned her early recognition. In 1994, she won the gold medal at the 2nd National MTV Music Television Competition with her song "春天的故事". In 1995, she won the gold medal again at the 3rd National MTV Music Television Competition with "千古孔子". In 2004, she released the album 港湾. Her international presence included performances at the Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
