Sofia Talvik was born on November 24, 1978, in Gothenburg, Sweden. Talvik is a folk and Americana musician who released her debut album, Blue Moon (2005), which she recorded and produced independently. Her second album, Street of Dreams (2007), features Bernard Butler on the song “It's Just Love” (2007). Talvik performed at the Lollapalooza festival in 2008 following the release of her third album, Jonestown (2008). Discography releases include the albums Florida (2010), The Owls Are Not What They Seem (2012), and Big Sky Country (2015), the latter of which features a cover of the Buffy Sainte-Marie song “Starwalker” (2015). From 2011 to 2013, she conducted the Drivin' & Dreaming tour across the United States. In 2023, Talvik released the album Center of the Universe (2023), which reached number 14 on the USA Folk Radio Charts.
