Slik Toxik was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1988 in Toronto. The group originated from the local band Portrait. After adopting the name Slik Toxik, they gained attention as a support act for Succsexx and were signed by Robert Luhtala Management. Their debut EP Smooth & Deadly was released in 1991, followed by their full-length album Doin' the Nasty in 1992, both produced by Paul Gross. The album reached gold status in Canada and peaked at number 61 on the Canadian music charts. Slik Toxik won the 1993 Juno Award for Hard Rock Album of the Year. Their second album Irrelevant was released in 1994 but faced challenges due to internal issues and the changing music landscape, leading to their disbandment that same year.
