Sapiency, a German metal band formed in Frankfurt am Main in 2009, initially consisted of members with extensive experience in the metal scene, namely guitarists Rene Ritzmann and Holger Wenck, along with singer Lars Bittner. Within three months of their formation, Sapiency played their first concert supporting Sonic Syndicate and Deathstars. Their debut EP Mercy was released in 2010, followed by their first album Fate's End in 2010 under the label SAOL. The band gained traction with notable performances at the Mittel-Gründau Metal Festival and the Havana Band Contest. In 2013, Sapiency released their second album Tomorrow, which received positive reviews from various magazines. Throughout their career, they toured extensively with bands such as W.A.S.P., Killswitch Engage, and Six Feet Under, and notably collaborated with Gerre of Tankard on the track "Like Yourself" for their 2020 album For Those Who Never Rest.
