With his debut EP Cantique, Hugo Jardin unveils a visionary work infused with science fiction… Science fiction, yet not fiction! These five tracks speak of us, our world, and its future. From “Rêve,” which invites us to open our eyes to present reality, to “Cantique II,” which plunges us into a post-apocalyptic universe at the dawn of humanity’s rebirth, Hugo Jardin sings the end of one world and the beginning of a new one.
Musically, his pop blends French chanson (Ferré, Bashung, Brel), English rock (Radiohead, Bowie) and more distant influences (70's soul-funk, Brazilian music, US dream pop, Bulgarian chants) in a modern production. Produced by Robin Leduc, Cantique follows glowing critical reception (Paris Match, Le Point) and a string of sold-out shows (Silencio, Trois Baudets).
