Frank Tønnesen (born 28 April 1972 in Sokndal, Norway) is a Norwegian singer‑songwriter and guitarist who adopted the stage name Tønes. He debuted with the album Rett te håves in 1996, followed by EPs Bonde (1999) and Det så e inne i krabben (2000). Over the next decade, he released Grønnare gras (2004), Tork av deg fliret (2008), and Sobihob (2009) before signing with Hype City, where Sån av Salve (2012) reached number seven on VG‑lista and Vindbrest (2015) peaked at number two. He toured with a backing band that included Gaute Tengesdal, Erlend Aasland, and Øystein Holmen, and in 2018 published his first novel Vi kan ikke ta med oss alt dette hjem. His works, Sesong Fire (2017) and Thilda Bøes Legat (2021), continued his folk‑pop legacy.
