Sasha Berliner, born on June 20, 1998, in San Francisco, California, is an American vibraphonist and composer. He began playing drums at age eight before switching to vibraphone at 13 after an audition at the Oakland School for the Arts. She recorded the EP Gold at 16, then moved to New York to study at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she attended the Banff International Workshop in 2017 and joined composer Tyshawn Sorey’s sextet. Berliner’s debut album, Azalea, was released in 2019, followed by Sasha Berliner and Tabula Rasa in 2023 and Fantôme in 2025. She has performed with Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride, and Cecile McLorin Salvant, and was named a DownBeat Rising Star vibraphonist in 2020 and 2022.
