Planer crafts a sonic landscape that blends the atmospheric density of heavy shoegaze with the expansive dynamics of post-rock. The quartet channels the emotional weight of Deftones and the raw intensity of Dinosaur Jr, but leaves out the guitar heroics in favor of cinematic immersion. Existing in the liminal space between crushing heaviness and ethereal beauty, Planer builds tension through textural layers and dynamic shifts. Jack Mooradian and Zack Moncrieff weave interlocking melodies and crushing riffs while sharing vocal duties, creating a rich tapestry of sounds that shift from whispered confession to soaring anthem. Bucket provides a gravitational low end that anchors the angular guitar work, while Ricky Frame's rhythmic foundation drives the songs through moments of quiet introspection and explosive catharsis.
