Advanced Art, a Finnish techno pop group, was founded in 1985, in Tampere by Pasi Janhunen, Petri Huttunen, and Petja Valasvaara. Initially known as Authorized Version, they changed their name to Advanced Art in 1988. Their early releases included demo tapes with a synthpop sound. In 1991, Poko Rekords signed the band, leading to the release of maxi singles "Scar" (1991) and "Time" (1992), followed by their debut album Product (1993). The band's style evolved into EBM with fast sequences and unpolished percussion. Their second CD, Force, was released in 1994. Advanced Art effectively ceased activity in 1995 following the release of a retrospective compilation by VUZ Records.
