Union Jack is an English trance music collaboration formed in 1993 by Simon Berry and Claudio Giussani. Focusing on acid and tech trance, the duo debuted by remixing “Away the Throttle Pedal Stop” by Nicely, followed by the single “Two Full Moons and a Trout”. The subsequent single “Cactus” reinforced their reputation before the release of their debut studio album, There Will Be No Armageddon (1995), which was issued on Platipus Records and featured the club hit “Red Herring”. The group was referenced in the 1995 film Hackers. After releasing “Cockroach / Yeti” (1997) and undergoing a seven-year hiatus, Union Jack returned in 2008 with a live performance at the Ultra Music Festival alongside Paul Brodgen, which led to the release of the album Pylon Pigs (2009).
