Daniel Dimitri Rodriguez, known professionally as D-Boy Rodriguez, was born on November 10, 1967, in New York City and was a Christian rap artist. Rodriguez began his career with Frontline Records, releasing his debut album Plantin' A Seed in 1989. The album featured the single "Pick Yourself Up", co-written with Tim Miner and Tommy Sims, which reached number 8 on Christian radio charts. His second album, The Lyrical Strength Of One Street Poet, released in 1990, was notable for its extensive use of sampling and included backing vocals from Nicole Bruce. Rodriguez's career was tragically cut short when he was murdered on October 6, 1990. Posthumously, his final album Peace To The Poet was released in 1993, featuring a collection of outtakes. His influence continued through tributes and compilations, including The Fallen Soldier Compilation: A Tribute To D-Boy, released on April 28, 2006.
