Kurt Bestor is an American keyboardist and composer born February 22, 1958 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He received early piano lessons from his mother and learned the trumpet while attending high school in Orem, Utah. Bestor entered the music industry working as a trumpet player and arranger at the Osmond TV Studios and produced commercial jingles. In 1988 he released An Airus Christmas Volume 1, which led to a series of live Christmas concerts in Salt Lake City. His subsequent recordings included the albums Innovators (1993), which featured the composition "Prayer of the Children", Evening Angels (1994), and Fathers (1998). Bestor won an Emmy for his musical collaboration on coverage of the 1988 Winter Olympics. He composed the score for the 1993 film Rigoletto and conducted music for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics closing ceremonies. He also provided arrangements for artists such as Jennifer Warnes and Hauser.
