Andrey Pisarev

Andrey Pisarev is a Russian pianist and dean of the piano faculty at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory born on November 6, 1962, in the USSR. He studied at the Academic Music College under Boris Abramovich Shatskes and graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1987 under Sergei Dorensky. Pisarev reached wider visibility after winning the first prize at the Rachmaninov competition in Moscow in 1983. He received the first prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg in 1991. He received the first prize at the international competition in Pretoria in 1992, and the fourth prize, and a special prize for the best performance of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in 1992. Pisarev received the Moscow Prize in literature and art for his concert activities in 1999. He was awarded the title of Merited Artist of the Russian Federation in 2007.
