Dead Man Ray is a Belgian alternative rock band formed in 1996 in Berchem, near Antwerp. The group initially included Daan Stuyven, Rudy Trouvé, Elko Blijweert, Wouter Van Belle, and Herman Houbrechts, who was later replaced by drummer Karel De Backer. Their debut studio album, Berchem (1998), includes the singles “Chemical” and “Beegee”. In 1999, they wrote a new soundtrack for the film At the Drop of a Head, which led to a sold-out tour in Belgium and the Netherlands. Their second studio album, Trap (2000), featured songs from this project, and was followed by the release of Berchem Trap (2000) and Marginal (2001). They recorded their next album, Cago (2002), in Chicago with producer Steve Albini. After a sixteen-year hiatus, the group returned with the EP Een (2018) and the studio album Over (2019), which was followed by a live tour in Belgium.
