New Album "Overcome" Out Now!
ROD1313 is an instrumental/metal project founded in 2016 in Uppsala/Sweden by guitarist Miguel Rodrigues aka Rod.
He began playing guitar at the age of 14 inspired by a wide range of artists.
Rod began his musical career in 1990 and over the years played with several other bands.
In October 2016 Rod finally decided to give birth to a project he had in mind a few years ago ROD1313.
His first single “Scars” was released in 2017 and brought great attention from both fans and the media. In early 2019, the first Ep “Gravity” saw the light of day and received very high scores from both the press and the public throughout the world.
After the well succeeded "Gravity" Rod decides to start writing new songs for a new Ep.
The writing process took place at his home studio in Uppsala/Sweden and after 18 months of hard work, the pre-production is finally done.
The recordings of "Dark Clouds" were completed in May 2020 and this time mixed and mastered by Carlos Rocha at Eyeball Recording Studios.
Songs like Witness, Nothing Left, Reflection, Dark Clouds, and The Awakening (featuring the former "Império dos Sentados" keyboard player Luis Justino) show a natural musical evolution and are true examples of beautiful melodies and powerful riffs that describe Rod's deep feelings in this work.
His third album "Overcome" was released on May 12, 2023.
Produced and recorded by Miguel Rodrigues at his home studio in Uppsala/Sweden this new record shows a return to the heavier roots but at the same time more polished sound that characterized him in the first work "Gravity".
"Overcome" was once again mixed and mastered by Carlos Rocha at Eyeball Recording Studio and has the participation of Joāo Brito (Devil in Me/Altura) on the song "Now And Forever” where he shows all his mastery with an incredible guitar solo.
These new songs are full of energy, powerful riffs, and beautiful melodies that have the power to provide relief from whatever hardships you might be facing.
Rod continues to demonstrate his exhilarating evolution, while never losing the spirit of his identity.
”Overcome is pure, heavy, highly personal, and intensely meaningful”
