alüto was formed in 2004 in Japan by vocalist and guitarist Fujita Daigo and violinist Satou Honoka. The duo debuted with the single "Michi ~to you all" on 11 July 2007, which served as the second ending theme for the anime Naruto Shippuden. They followed with the EP 愛に手ふれて on 28 November 2007 and released the single "未来空想/歌うたいのバラッド" on 30 July 2008, solidifying their presence in the J‑rock scene. In 2006, the group issued their first full‑length album 五文字の糸, and continued with 歌とギターとバイオリン on 21 January 2009. Throughout their career, alüto toured extensively in Japan, collaborating with other J‑rock acts and signing with a major independent label. The group disbanded in 2010, and Fujita Daigo passed away the same year. Posthumously, their music has been included in various anime soundtracks, and their debut single remains a notable entry in early 2000s J‑rock history.
