Vieja Trova Santiaguera was a Cuban musical group formed in Santiago de Cuba in 1994 whose members included Amado Machado, Aristóteles Limonta, Pancho Cobas, Cirilo Reinaldo Creagh Veranes, and Reynaldo Hierrezuelo. The veteran musicians had previously performed with acclaimed ensembles including Cuarteto Patria, El Dúo de Los Compadres, and Estudiantina Invasora. Specializing in traditional Cuban music, the group blended trova with son, bolero, guaracha, conga, and other styles. They released their self-titled debut album in 1994, followed by Gusto y Sabor (1995), Hotel Asturias (1996), La Manigua (1998), and El Balcón del Adiós (2002). Their success led to European tours in 1995 and 1996, with performances in France, Germany, and Spain.
