Zalia, the stage name of Julia Zarzecka, is a Polish singer, songwriter, and composer born on 29 October 2000 in Warsaw. She studied Vocal Performance and Songwriting at BIMM in London before developing her career in the Polish alternative pop scene. She released her debut studio album, kocham i tęsknię, in 2022 and received a Fryderyk nomination for Phonographic Debut of the Year in 2023. In 2024, Zalia signed with Def Jam Recordings Poland and released the singles “znowu sam” and “diament,” followed by her second studio album, Serce (2025). The album also included “my,” which was used as the theme for the Polish thriller Nieprzyjaciel, and collaborations with Piotr Rogucki and Piotr Zioła. In 2026, Serce contributed to Zalia receiving two Fryderyk Awards, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year – Pop. That year, she joined Igor Herbut and Vito Bambino as a member of Męskie Granie Orkiestra 2026 and recorded the singles “Nareszcie” and “Tańczę” with the group. She also released the solo singles “tylko kochaj mnie” and “daj mi znak” in 2026.
