Les Sans Culottes, a French-language rock band from Brooklyn, New York, was formed in 1998 by Bill Carney, known as Clermont Ferrand. The group debuted at Freddy's Back Room in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Their first album, Les Sans Culottes, was released in 1999 on Escargot-Go Records. Over the years, Les Sans Culottes has seen several lineup changes but maintained original vocalists Ferrand and Kit Kat Le Noir. The band gained significant exposure through placements in various ads, television programs, and movies, including HBO's Cathouse and MTV's The Real World. Notable albums include Faux Realism (2002), Fixation Orale (2004), 'Pataphysical Graffiti (2012), The Gods Have Thirst (2014), and She Is Tossed by the Waves but Doesn't Sink (2018). The band has toured across the United States, Canada, and France.
