Beyond Twilight, a progressive metal band from Denmark, was founded in 1990 by keyboardist Finn Zierler under the original name Twilight. The initial lineup included Anders Engbert on vocals, Jan Strandh and Micke Därth on guitars, Kim Mikkelsen on bass, and Tomas Fredén on drums. Their first release was the demo The Edge in 1992. In 1994, they released the single "Sail Away" and the album Eye for an Eye. The band changed their name to Beyond Twilight in 1999, with Zierler and Fredén being the only remaining original members. Their first album under the new name was The Devil's Hall of Fame (2001), featuring Jørn Lande on vocals. In 2005, Beyond Twilight released their second album, Section X, with Kelly Sundown Carpenter on vocals.
