Maytree, a South Korean a cappella ensemble formed in 2000, began as a university club called Gigahitz before evolving into a five‑member group comprising Jang Sang‑in, Kang Soo‑kyung, Kwon Young‑hoon, Kim Won‑jong, and Lim Su‑yeon. The group’s debut studio album Maybe was released in 2006, followed by The MayTree (2011) and 5028 (2013). Subsequent releases include 메이트리 인 러브 (2015), 그대 내게 다시 (2020), and 아침이슬 50년 (2021). Maytree gained international attention through viral YouTube covers of sound effects and Squid Game themes, the latter amassing over 260 million views by late 2022. The group received multiple awards, including first prizes at the Busan Choral International Competition (2011) and Yeosu Choral International Competition (2013), and earned two gold medals at the World Choir Games (2014). They contributed to numerous TV series OSTs, including “Love Is Coming” for Heo’s Diner in 2025.
