Gliss, a Danish/American band, started as a trio with Victoria Cecilia, Martin Klingman, and David Reiss. Their first EP, Velvet Stars, was released in 2004. The band gained attention when their single "Blue Sky" (2006) won "Fresh Meat" on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show. This led to European support slots with bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Editors. Their debut album, Love the Virgins, was also released that year on UK label Tough Cookie. Gliss supported Billy Corgan on his solo Future Embrace tour and for the re-formation of Smashing Pumpkins in 2007. In 2009, they released their second album, Devotion Implosion. Following Reiss's departure in 2013, Cecilia and Klingman continued as a duo, releasing albums such as Pale Reflections (2015) and In Utopia (2019).
