Shadowside is a Brazilian metal band from Santos, São Paulo, formed in 2001. The group released an eponymous demo EP, Shadowside EP, in 2001 and gained attention after opening for Nightwish at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo. Their debut studio album, Theatre of Shadows, was released in Brazil in 2005, followed by tours with Helloween. Their second album, Dare to Dream, released in 2009, marked their breakthrough, becoming one of the best-selling metal CDs in Brazil. In 2011, they released Inner Monster Out, featuring guest appearances from Roger Moreira, Björn “Speed” Strid, Mikael Stanne, and Niklas Isfeldt. This album reached number 26 on Japan's metal album chart and won the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards for Best Hardcore/Metal Album by Popular Vote. In 2017, the group released Shades of Humanity, which received multiple awards worldwide.
