Wesley Erwin "Mac" Curtis Jr., born on January 16, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, was an American rockabilly musician. He started playing guitar at age 12, entering local talent competitions. He formed a band with two of his classmates and released "If I Had Me A Woman" via King Records in 1955. After military service, Curtis returned to the U.S. in 1960 and worked as a disc jockey, releasing The Sunshine Man (1968). Later, he signed with Rollin' Rock Records and achieved hits with the tracks "Early In The Morning" and "Honey, Don't", which appeared on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1970. Curtis continued his career into the 1980s and 1990s, releasing notable albums including Rockabilly Ready (1998). He was elected to the Rockabilly Hall of Fame before dying on September 16, 2013 following complications from a car accident.
