The strength of Gmini's songwriting and his smooth, catchy melodies underpin Latin rhythms and his compelling versatility: Gmini's music speaks volumes on behalf of a personal devotion to the art; and indeed, the future of contemporary world music at large.
Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Gmini moved to Guanabacoa, Havana, at the age of 4, the beginning of a life of culturally unlimited influences. At six years old, he moved to the United States via a small boat crossing to Mexico and then across the border. Despite his brief stay in Havana, the aspiring musician remained deeply impacted by the culture and music he experienced there.
Gmini lived in Atlanta, Georgia, from age 8 to 10, and once again assumed the vast creative influences the city had to offer. Shortly after, he would move to Miami, and another source of inspiration would help carve this unparalleled path.
With the organic music of playing clarinet and bass clarinet from ages 11 to 13, Gmini's creative future was quickly becoming a reality. His life journey is of uniquely complex origins, resulting in a distinctive story and voice as a modern artist.
Gmini picked up the guitar at age 16 and began making music professionally that same year. The self-taught guitarist and composer has now collaborated with a handful of recognized artists, with his first release on YouTube being the timeless "CDLU," with Yanter. Gmini's extensive repertoire also includes collaborations with Bryant Garcia, El Dany MG, and RPM Music.
Seamlessly blending aspects of R&B, Hip Hop, Trap, Reggaeton, Dancehall, and Cuban Music, with elements of multiple languages and cultures incorporated, Gmini's releases promise a refreshing touch of originality and sincere intent within the contemporary scene.
Now with over 40 thousand followers on social media, with over 50 thousand views on videos such as "Tu Otra Mitad," "Carro Rapido," and "Rookie," Gmini has seen his presence explode on the scene. The 2021 single and video "Te Pienso," again with Yanter, has over 130 thousand views on YouTube alone. The passionate and upbeat track blends a catchy hook with an equally stimulating dancehall rhythm and sharp, captivating visuals, unmistakable features of Gmini's identity.
After another successful release in the form of "Brazilian," 2022 saw Gmini sign a recording contract with independent record label High Music Inc. As such, his first release of 2023, the anthem and intense night rhythm "Yo Si," hit the airwaves with an incalculable impact and continues to accumulate views for its heavy trap and bass production and equally intense and compelling visuals.
Highlighted as one of the most stylish and passionate Latin artists of our time, Gmini moves from strength to strength within the music industry, bridging genres and a breadth of influences, amid an increasingly recognizable yet impressively versatile sound.
