Michel'le Denise Toussant, professionnally known as Michel'le, born on December 5, 1970, in Los Angeles, California, is an American soul and R&B singer‑songwriter who first rose to prominence as a young artist in the late 1980s. After honing her vocal talents in church choirs and local talent shows, she signed with Death Row Records, a label that would become central to her career. Her self‑titled debut album Michel'le was released in 1989, featuring the hit single "No More Lies" and establishing her as a distinctive voice in contemporary R&B. In 1998, she followed with the album Hung Jury, which showcased a more mature sound and included the chart‑climbing track "Goodbye My Love". After a period of relative quiet, Michel'le returned to the public eye with Music from the TV Motion Picture Surviving Compton in 2016, lending her voice to the film’s soundtrack and reaffirming her relevance in the genre. In the 2020s, Michel'le released other singles, including "God I'll Let You Do It!" in 2018.
