Drive, She Said was formed in 1986 in the United States by vocalist and guitarist Al Fritsch and keyboardist Mark Mangold. The duo entered the recording industry after signing with CBS Records in 1988, releasing their self-titled debut album Drive, She Said in 1989, which featured guest appearances by Aldo Nova, Fiona Flanagan, and Bob Kulick. Their early singles “Think of Love” and “When You Love Someone” followed in 1991, accompanied by the album Drivin' Wheel. Subsequent releases included Excelerator (1993), Real Life (2003), and Pedal to the Metal (2016). Several of the band's songs appeared in the 2003 short film Advantage Hart, and their compilations included Road to Paradise (1998) and Dreams Will Come - The Best of & More (2010). Al Fritsch died on October 10, 2017, marking the end of the group's active period.
