The Untamed Youth was an American garage rock and surf rock band from Columbia, Missouri, formed in 1986 by guitarist and vocalist Deke Dickerson. The group's first performance took place at the local club The Blue Note in January 1987, and they quickly began playing venues across the United States between 1988 and 1993. Their debut studio album, Some Kinda Fun, was released in 1989, followed by More Gone Gassers from the Untamed Youth (1990) and ...Are The Sophisticated International Playboys (1992). The band's live shows were famous for wild stage antics, such as spraying the audience with cans of beer during the song "Pabst Blue Ribbon". Despite critical acclaim and local success, the group disbanded in August 1993. They reunited for various performances, including the live album Live from Fabulous Las Vegas Strip (1995) and a European tour in 1996, and recorded the studio albums An Invitation to Planet Mace (1997) and Youth Runs Wild (1998). Later releases include the album Major Chaos! (2002). The group reunited again for performances in California on July 27, 2024 and August 3, 2024.
