The Templars are an American Oi! band from Long Island, New York, formed in 1991. The original lineup included Carl Fritscher, Phil Rigaud, Perry Hardy, and Chris White. The band frequently records as a duo consisting of Fritscher and Rigaud, and they are known for using low-quality recording techniques in their Acre Studios garage. Their name is derived from the Knights Templar, a medieval order that reflects Fritscher and Rigaud's historical interests. Discography milestones include the 7-inch release “The Poor Knights of Acre” (1993) and the albums The Return of Jacques DeMolay (1994), Phase II (1997), and Omne Datum Optimum (1999). Later releases include the albums Outremer (2005) and Deus Vult (2017). Their work was featured in a History Channel documentary regarding the legacy of the Knights Templar.
