Third Coast Percussion, an American percussion ensemble based in Chicago, Illinois, was formed in 2005 by Anthony Calabrese, Robert Dillon, Jacob Nissly, and David Skidmore. Their early performances focused on educational engagements in the Chicago area. In 2013, Sean Connors joined the group. Third Coast Percussion's unique repertoire and style were influenced by performing in small venues with limited space. Their breakthrough came with the release of Resounding Earth (2013). The ensemble has collaborated with notable artists, including Philip Glass, Missy Mazzoli, and Steve Reich. In 2017, they won a Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for their album Third Coast Percussion | Steve Reich, becoming the first percussion group to win in this category.
