The Mayflies USA, a power-pop band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, formed in 1997. Their debut EP was released that same year. The band signed with Yep Roc Records and released three albums: Summertown (1999), The Pity List (2000), and Walking in a Straight Line (2002). Their album Summertown received critical acclaim from publications such as Spin Magazine. After years of touring, The Mayflies USA went on hiatus following their final show at SXSW in 2003. They reunited for various shows and released new music in 2025, including the single "Calling The Bad Ones Home" and the album Kickless Kids.
