Tea Leaf Green is an American four-piece jam band from San Francisco. It was formed in 1996 when Scott Rager and Ben Chambers began playing together at San Francisco State University. Josh Clark and Trevor Garrod joined soon after on guitar/vocals and keyboards, respectively. Their debut album, Tea Leaf Green, was released in 1999. The band gained national attention through extensive touring and festival appearances, including the High Sierra Music Festival in 2002. Their third studio album, Taught to Be Proud (2005), earned them a Jammy Award for Song of the Year with the title track. In 2007, original bassist Ben Chambers left the band and was replaced by Reed Mathis. The band continued to release albums, including Raise Up the Tent (2008), Looking West (2010), and In the Wake (2013). In 2016, Mathis departed and was replaced by Eric DiBerardino. In 2020, the band released an album titled Destination Bound.
