Akinori Nakagawa, born on November 5, 1982 in Sendai, Japan, is a singer, songwriter and actor. He began learning classical piano at kindergarten age and participated in music contests from a young age. In 2001, Akinori Nakagawa debuted as a singer with the single "I Will Get Your Kiss", which was used as the theme song for the Japanese TV drama Maria. His debut self-titled album followed in December of the same year. In 2002, Nakagawa appeared in the musical Mozart!, playing the leading role and receiving a Rookie of the Year Award in the drama division at the 57th National Arts Festival held by the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan. His performance also earned him the Haruko Sugimura Award and an award nomination for best actor in the Tenth Yomiuri Drama Awards. Nakagawa continued to release albums, including Himself (2004), Oasis (2005), and Sabaku (2005). He made his album debut in Taiwan in 2004. Throughout his career, Nakagawa has performed in numerous musicals while actively pursuing his music career, releasing notable songs such as "I Say Good‐bye"(2001), "White Shiny Street"(2002), and "Matador"(2004). In 2016, he released the album decade and his live album, Akinori Nakagawa Concert at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan 2025, was released on October 22, 2025.
