XIV Dark Centuries is a German pagan-metal band from Zella-Mehlis in Thüringen. The group initially came together in 1994, fully forming in 1998, and released their first demo, For Your God, in 1999. XIV Dark Centuries gained early traction as a live act, performing with bands like Menhir and Die Apokalyptischen Reiter. In 2002, they released Dunkle Jahrhunderte. The following year saw the release of ...Den Ahnen Zum Grusse..., marking their self-described style as "Heidnischen Thüringer Metal." The band signed with CCP-Records in 2003 and released the mini-album Jul in 2005. In 2006, they released Skithingi. XIV Dark Centuries has undergone several lineup changes, including the departure of guitarist Tobalt in 2007 and the return of both Tobalt and Uwe in 2017. They have performed at notable festivals such as Summer Breeze Open Air and Ragnarök-Festival.
