Robert Chilcott, born on April 9, 1955, in Plymouth, England, is a British choral conductor, singer, and composer. He began his musical journey as a member of the local church choir near Watford, Hertfordshire, and later sang with the Choir of King's College, Cambridge. In 1985, he joined the King's Singers, where he sang tenor until 1997. Chilcott's compositional career began after leaving the King's Singers. He is known for his works for children's choirs, notably for "Can You Hear Me?", which has been performed internationally. Other significant compositions include "A Little Jazz Mass" and "The Making of the Drum". His larger sacred works, such as Canticles of Light and Jubilate, have been performed in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall. Chilcott's Requiem premiered in 2010 at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, conducted by Nicholas Cleobury.
