Christopher Taylor White, born March 7, 1943, in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, is an English bassist, songwriter, and record producer who came to prominence as the bass guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for the rock band The Zombies, replacing original bassist Paul Arnold. He served as one of the band's primary songwriters, contributing two tracks to the U.S. debut album The Zombies (1965) and three tracks to the U.K. release Begin Here (1965). White authored seven tracks on Odessey and Oracle (1968), including "I Love You", and contributed lead vocals to "Butcher's Tale (Western Front 1914)". Following the band's disbandment, he contributed songwriting and production work to Colin Blunstone's solo career and co-wrote the 1972 hit "Hold Your Head Up" for the band Argent. In 2007, as part of the band White Circle, he co-wrote and co-produced the album The Key with his wife Vivienne Boucherat and son Matthew White. Beginning in 2019, he released previously unheard material under the project title The Chris White Experience. He rejoined the surviving original lineup of The Zombies for tours between 2008 and 2019, performing Odessey and Oracle, and earned induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
