Born in Benin on March 13, 1992, Queen Fumi's passion for music began at the age of eight. She quickly joined her school's cultural shows and made her mark on the stage. However, the pursuit of her studies forced her to take a break from music production. In 2015, the latter took off, when Fumilayo Raimi, real name, published videos of covers of Josey or Maître Gims on the internet. The following year, "Romantic Boy" was released through the Eden Music label. But it was a new cover, of rapper Kaaris' "Tchoin ", that caught the public's attention. Boasting half a million views, she followed this up with Luis Fonsi's "Despacito", then her second personal single, "Mes Ways". She joined the Blue Diamond label, where she developed her R'n'B sounds mixed with Beninese rhythms, with the singles "Madame" and "Zéro". Then, with Gabonese artist Tina, she released "Affaire de Boy", where the worlds of the two singers combine wonderfully, helping her to achieve greater notoriety in Africa, with over ten million views: the track was awarded Best International Collaboration at the Benin Showbiz Awards in 2019. Despite her well-traced style, Queen Fumi chose to give a new impetus to her career, leaving the Blue Diamond label for Assouka Music, with a new album heralded by the "Poupée" video.
