Rubio is Francisca Straube's personal project. A work that was created from the completation of individual experiments since 2015 that have been revealing a new path for the artist, until reaching the point of showing her work to the rest of the world. Rubio's first album was released in 2016; a homonymous EP of five tracks that gave the first light of what was to come. Since then, Straube has worked on the release of a series of five EPs containing two songs each, titled with the letters that name the project. In 2017, the first three were released - "R", "U" and "B" - all produced by chilean Pablo Stipicic, "I" and "O" were released during the first months of 2018. Rubio, with a little more than a year in existance, has been part of important festivals such as Primavera Pro (Spain), Circulart (Colombia), Fluvial (Chile), Lollapalooza 2018 (Chile), Hermoso Ruido (Colombia). She also set up her first tour in the United States, performing in New York and Philadelphia. Her nomination for "revelation artist" in 2017's Pulsar Awards, her emblematic reviews in the media such as BEATS-1, the exclusive premiere of her latest video "Hacia el Fondo" on KEXP Radio, and being on the cover of two official Spotify playlists, are bringing high expectations for 2018 with future milestones such as Rubio's first LP, collaborations with international artists and a consolidated high quality live performance.
