Night Tempo, born Jung Kyung-ho (정경호) on February 14, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea, is a future funk producer known for reviving the 1980s Japanese city pop genre. He gained international recognition for his Showa Groove series, which re-edits and remixes iconic songs from the 1980s Japanese pop culture. One of his most popular remixes, Mariya Takeuchi's "Plastic Love," has garnered over 7 million views on YouTube, further cementing his influence in the future funk and vaporwave scenes. Night Tempo's passion for 1980s music extends to his "Showa Idol Groove" series, where he has officially re-edited tracks by renowned artists such as Wink and Anri. His original music also reflects his retro sensibilities, with his first album, Moonrise, released in 2018, followed by his major album Ladies In The City in 2021. In addition to his musical achievements, Night Tempo is active in both the U.S. and Japan, collaborating with various artists and performing at international venues. In 2023, he debuted as part of the retro-pop unit FANCYLABO alongside Aoi Yagawa and Miori Ichikawa. In 2024, Night Tempo released a new album Connection.
