Walter Cooper Trout (born March 6, 1951 in Ocean City, New Jersey) is a composer, guitarist and singer from the USA. With his music, the artist creates a synthesis between blues and rock - blues rock. Even as a teenager, Walter Trout played in various bands and with other musicians. He accompanied the blues musician John Lee Hooker at the end of the 1970s. From 1980, he was part of Canned Heat for four years. Walter Trout then worked with John Mayall. He then founded the Walter Trout Band. The blues rocker regularly released albums under this name and later as Walter Trout and the Radicals. The debut album Tellin' Stories was released in 1994. With the album Full Circle, he made it to number 2 in the US blues charts in 2006. He also achieved top 10 positions in the US blues charts with the following albums, including The Outsider (2008), Unspoiled by Progress (2009), Common Ground (2010), Blues for the Modern Daze (2012), Luther's Blues: A Tribute to Luther Allison (2013) and The Blues Came Callin ' (2014). In 2014, he had to undergo a liver transplant. Less than a year later, he goes on tour again. His album Battle Scars reaches number 2 in the US blues charts again in 2015. In 2024, Walter Trout reached number 18 in the German charts with the album Broken. In Switzerland, the longplayer climbed to number 14.
