Looking for You |
Provocative,
disturbing, and scandalous, Maruv (real name Anna Korsun) is
always on the edge in her music and live performances. Born in
Pavlohrad (Ukraine) on February 15, 1991, Anna Korsun studied music and dance
during her school years. In 2013, she founded a music band named Pringlez. The band took part in the New Wave 2015 song competition
(Sochi, Russia) and one year later - in the Ukrainian national
selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In
2017, the band moved to Kyiv and changed its name
to Maruv. The next year, together
with DJ and sound producer Boosin, she released her first solo track
“Спини” (Stop Me), a dance
composition in Ukrainian, and
decided to launch her solo career under the name of Maruv. Her
next track with Boosin, English-language
"Drunk
Groove" became multi-platinum
and held
the first position in the Shazam chart for 18 weeks. The composition "Focus on Me" followed this success. Maruv’s debuting album
Black Water was released in 2018, the No Name album –
in 2021. In
2020, Maruv presented her side project Shlakoblochina, a more daring,
sexy, and provocative singer’s alter-ego. Subsequently, Maruv worked with Filipp Kirkorov, Faruk
Sabanci, and Jah
Khalib.
Maruv won Best
Russian Act on MTV Russia Music Awards in
2019.
