Born in Nantes in 1999, Lucienne Renaudin Vary planned to pursue a career in dance before discovering the trumpet in a music theory class. Seduced by the instrument's possibilities, which matched her musical eclecticism, she studied jazz and classical repertoires at the Conservatoire du Mans from 2007 onwards, and went on to win the Petites mains symphoniques competition. In 2013, she made her debut at the Victoires de la musique classique, where she performed in tribute to Maurice André. That same year, the trumpeter was featured on the Générations CD alongside teacher and musician Guy Touvron. Her singular career path, extended by a calendar of concerts, notably at the Folles Journées de Nantes, between classes in 1ère TMD (Technique de la musique et de la danse), was recognized by a nomination at the 2016 Victoires de la musique awards. On February 24, Lucienne Renaudin Vary was just seventeen when she won the Victoire in the revelation category. She performed Shostakovich's Trumpet Concerto with pianist Vladimir Ashkenazy.
